Index to land patents and grants, 1623-1980.

These records contain a card file indexing land patents and grants. Each card contains the name of the grantee, the date of the grant, the county in which the land was located when granted, the number of acres in the tract, and a brief description of the property. The book and inclusive page numbers of recording are noted. Most of the cards in this index were prepared from abstracts recorded by county in the Land Office. The period covered is 1623-1774; 1779-1980. Some discrepancies have been noted.
